Tonic Studio ("Tonic", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide.
Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, including generations created, features used, timestamps, and error logs.
Content you provide. We collect the prompts, brand briefs, scripts, images, and other content you upload or input into the Service ("Input Content").
Generated content. We store the outputs generated for you to provide the library and history features.
Billing information. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Stripe). We do not store your full payment card details.
Device and technical data. We collect IP addresses, browser type, device identifiers, and similar technical information for security and analytics purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your generations and manage your credit balance
- Send transactional emails (magic links, receipts, generation completions)
- Respond to your support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
3. AI Model Training
By default, we do not use your Input Content or generated outputs to train our AI models without your explicit consent. Aggregate, anonymised usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most) may be used to improve the Service.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
Service providers. Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI model inference). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
AI inference providers. Your prompts and inputs are sent to AI model providers (including fal.ai and Anthropic) to generate content. Please review their privacy policies for details on how they handle data.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Tonic or others.
Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated content and usage data are retained for a minimum of 12 months to support the library feature. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and notify us immediately of any suspected breach.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session management) and may use analytics cookies to understand Service usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using the Service.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (right to erasure)
- Object to certain processing
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format

9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International Transfers
Tonic operates globally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection. We use appropriate safeguards (including standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or within the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
